Of course a person could be related to someone in multiple ways. It's not uncommon to accidentally have a few duplicates because of that. Though you are more likely to have duplicates if you're just clicking away rather than researching. If you spend time with the people on your tree the names are more likely to ring a bell and stop you from entering them again, especially if the name is as unusual as Ida de Toesny (or Ida De Toesny or Ida DeToesny or Ida Plantagenet).
Before Ancestry.com's new merge feature was introduced it was a pain to fix duplicates. Now there's no excuse. Of course it'll take time for everyone to merge those duplicates but chances are if you have a person in your tree nine times with varying information you're not going to bother correcting it.
Every tree, if it goes back far enough, will have some degree of pedigree collapse. But nine lines merging into one? And different information on every profile? A couple of these lines dead end in the 15th and 16th centuries so I'm not sure how they're attached to the tree, if they're attached at all.
This one has given me a serious headache but I do have a couple of favorite details. Ida died in Normandy, Bedford, Tennessee, United States in the 13th century, a couple of times. Love that. And then a detail not included above. This event:
Date: 1176
Event: Marriage to Henry II England Plantagenet
Place: Bordeaux, Gironde, Aquitaine, France
Note: Mistress of Henry II, wife of Roger Le Bigod
She was a mistress, not a wife, but he was a king so he rates a marriage event and the lowly Roger Le Bigod is a note. No surprise there since a large number of clickophiles are only interested in royalty.
Now if you'll excuse me I need to do something about this headache :-P

Hat tip to Janet for the heads up about this tree ;-)
